Christof Galfar “The Universe In Your Hands” Impression and critic

A few words before I start…

This Summer was really different for each one of us. For me, quarantine was the perfect motive to find and explore myself. Between many other books, I chose to read the one I will be talking about later on. To be honest, I never read that book. Instead, I chose to explore it to its fullest. The title, the images, the plot and overall the book itself made me stick to it and I wasn’t able to stop myself from reading. But, let’s now say a little something for the author of the book.

The author: Galfar Christof

Born in 1976 in France, Christof studied mathematics and science. Later on, after his studies, he took his doctoral degree (PhD) from the university of Cambridge in England with Stephen Hawking being his supervisor. In combination with a wide range of a good sense humor and fluency in his speech, his second occupation was writing science related books. Many of his books have been honored with awards for Youth Science Literature, while others were written in corporation with famous people, such as Stephen Hawking. He is well known in his country of origin, as well as in Europe and he is now participating in a tv show named “28 min” in the French channel “ArteTV”, presenting scientific topics.

The plot of the book:

You are about to have an unforgettable trip to the past, the present and the future of our Universe. Mysteries, darkness, black holes, walls, galaxies, light… So many will you see with your eyes! There’s no need to calculate or be an expert in the field of science as this book, is suitable for all. With your mind be your only guide, where no person can imagine. A unique trip where you will find the real world with any borders.

My critic:

I may not be the proper person to do this job, but I just want to share my point of view with you. In my opinion, this book is suitable for all ages. It works like a fairy tale, but it is a unique of a kind. What I felt excited with was the fact that I learnt many new things I didn’t knew before, regarding different fields of science, biology and chemistry. For me, it is something magical and rare to be able to connect a fairy tale with knowledge. But I believe that the most difficult of all is to connect such a difficult science like astrophysics. Furthermore, with this book I had the chance to discover another side of music. As you may be wondering, I am graduating in a music school, so music is my way to relax and create. To be honest, music is my best friend as I can express myself. So, this book made me understand a lot more than I knew. In conclusion, I would totally recommend to you this book and believe me, you won’t regret reading it, instead you will be there day and night in a world with no rules o borders…
