For most of us, dancing is a way to express ourselves and escape from the daily routine and our heavy schedule. In general, dance requires the movement of the body. There are many ways to move our bodies and these are separated in several categories, such as ballet, contemporary, modern, hip hop and many other kinds. Before I get into the history of dance, I prefer to explain what a dancer really is.

An athete, a person, a soul. When dancing, he/she/they put passion in every move of theirs.
History of dance
Dance can not be marked chronologically. The first paintings that showed dancers where found around 3300 B.C. by ancient people in India. Dance is not believed to be invented by someone. It is believed that it occured by the need of people to express something that they feel. This can be joy, sadness and other feelings.Belly dance is believed to be the oldest form of dance that was used in ancient cultures around 6.000 years ago, or even more. The origin of dance, namely, where dancing was first located/invented, is still a mystery. It cannot be specified yet today, in 2021.

Dance really offers to human’s body and soul. By dancing, someone keeps being healthy and active. Dance stregthens the body and keeps the dancer in a good shape. Although, it doesn’t only offer in physical health, but also in mental health. As I mentioned before, dance help us express ourselves so it’s easier for someone to speak his/her/their feelings. Dancing follows culture, so it is directly related with traditions and customs.
Dance is a creative hobby that needs no talent, but just practice. it combines creativity with confidence, positivity and wellbeing. It is a beautiful form of art and offers many unique ways to express ourselves! There are many types of dance, in the next article you’ll see the classical dances!
