The ideal summer guide!

So, we are back this week with fresh and new summer content! Have a nice month! It’s July, and I think the most perfect time to post this article! Places to go, things to do, how to spend free time, confidence and many many more will be discussed today! So, without further ado, let’s start!

Where to go during the summer break!

Everything these days is so expensive, so personally I would love to use my imagination and travel somewhere I can’t, for a bit! So, what do you say?

Greece

Athens

Well, to some Athens may seem a bit overrated and to others it may seem an underrated city for someone to spend his summer. Actually, Athens is a pretty nice destination for many people especially tourists, as it has everything someone would ever ask for. Restaurants, cafes, bars, museums, ancient sights, architecture and also nice pedestrian streets anyone can walk. It also has the basic facilities any city needs so it’s a safe and cozy destination for anyone to stay! Especially in the center of Athens the prices are quite of expensive but someone can easily find something affordable and easy to stay for a few days or more. Usually tourists book hotel rooms by booking sites, and I also recommend that because it comes cheaper and it’s a lot safer than booking on your own. It is also a nice way to combine destinations, videlicet, traveling from Thessaloniki to Athens and then Milos. Well this is just an option and everyone should do what they believe it’s better!

Islands of Greece

Beautiful and magical places for someone to go is also our islands. Anyone can find anything they want there. but the islands offer something more. It is important to mention that in the complete majority of our islands there is clean sea water and magical sights. So, what our islands keep special, is that they are for any kind of people, like, for introverts, extroverts, quiet, picky and unique people! There are always small spots that make anyone forget everything, breathtaking sights that remain unforgettable and in general many other hidden treasures, that attract many tourists but also Greek people!

Outskirts and countryside of Greece

Nice destinations to have a break as well are some cities of the outskirts of Greece! Some of them, are Larisa, Trikala, Thessaloniki, Patra, Epidauros, and many more! They offer everything a normal city can offer but also, kind people, and tasty unique recipes! What I like most though, is that most of them can combine both sea and mountain view, which is perfect for picky people, but also for the indecisive ones! That also offers something more than that! The climate is ideal for everyone as it combines both chill but also warm vibes, creating the ideal aesthetic for a summer!

France

A wonderful country full of romantic scenery, is a perfect destination for someone to enjoy some days of summer. France is really what we call, all in one. It combines romantic views, yet outstanding, and offers a nice and cozy type of lifestyle, anyone would like to have while on vacation! This country has many places to go, each one special and unique, with beautiful scenery, warmhearted people and yummy food! Some cities I recommend, are: Nice, Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseilles, Strasbourg and Nantes. Although I’ve never been to any of these cities I have seen photos of them and read many travel guides, and they are on the wishlist for a visit!

Italy

Another romantic country, but this time a bit different. Italy is what we call “aesthetic, but I don’t care for that”.. well, to be more specific Italy attracts its visitors due to the nice food someone can enjoy there. Although, what a visitor can earn by visiting Italy, is that kind of attachment, because the memories and photos of that country always keep you connected with it. In Italy, someone can enjoy, the wonderful pasta, pizza, wine, gelato and so many other things, that you will find out only if you pay a visit! Be sure, though, to visit numerous cities, such as Rome, Venice, Tuscany, Sicily and more. Trust me, you won’t regret your time there, Italy is a place where anyone can relax and have a pleasant time!

Spain

If you didn’t get it, I’m kind of hungry right now, so I am thinking of all the special dishes all these countries offer. Oh, Spain, well, whoever is fun of spicy food, be sure to visit (I am not –). But Spain is a really special and unique country. So, be sure to visit Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada and many more!

What to watch/read during the summer break!

Even if you go on vacation or not, like me, then you should definitely watch a series or movies! So, I’m here to suggest hopefully something that you will like!

Series:

People that know me well, know that I’m obsessed with kdramas, so I will recommend you some kdramas, that really hit me.

First, is an amazing kdrama: Sponsor. The plot is really interesting although it needs concentration because if you miss some seconds you may get lost in the plot. The plot has to do about a beauty industry, and it shows the behind the scenes of these big companies many of us know. A family can even be used for money. What is important after all? Reputation or money? The episodes last about an hour each, and it consists of 12 episodes.

Second, comes a really heartwarming yet cold kdrama: Hotel Del Luna. The plot is perfect, and it explains how the living are connected to the dead, and how people pay for their actions. We can see inside the past of a young looking girl, yet so old no one can imagine. The actors are really dramatic and they play perfect in any occasion, so the viewer can easily get attached with any actor. It consists of 16 episodes that last about 1 hour and a half each.

Third, I would recommend Snowdrop: Snowdrop is a winter kdrama that connects with the past years around 80s-90s. Although it is connected with winter I watched it this summer, and I can say that I felt those nostalgic warm vibes of winter, but also that cold vibes of that season. In general, it is a highly recommended kdrama with awarded actors and a fascinating plot. It consists of 16 episodes that last as well 1 hour and a half each.

Other recommended kdramas I didn’t watch yet, are: A business proposal, Twenty five-Twenty one, It’s okay not to be okay, Shooting stars, Celebrity and many many more! Whoever is interested in these then be sure to dm me on instagram here!

Movies:

I usually watch series, but I also like movies that have action and are interesting till the last second of them. So, here are the top 10 movies I recommend for summer!

  1. Top Gun – Maverick (thank you friend that requested this)
  2. Doctor Strange – The Multiverse of Madness (thank you other friend that requested this)
  3. Minions: The Rise of Gru (thank you google <lol>)
  4. Everything everywhere all at once (thank you google -again-)
  5. Happening (well I like the summary of the plot and it’s highly recommended so-)
  6. X (yep it’s a movie y’all)
  7. The Northman (I also like fiction)
  8. Watcher (this has a lot of action)
  9. The innocents (I’ll be honest, never heard of it although it seems to have an interesting plot and it’s highly recommended so here you go people!)
  10. Last but not least, Elvis (tbh, I would love to see that, so here you go, let’s watch together!)

Books:

So for many people like me that can’t get enough rest at summer, there is something that can make us escape reality. Ladies and gentlemen, Books. Okay, if I actually start talking about my favorite books of all time I promise I won’t ever post that article, like never. So, let me recommend you some books that can make you travel with your mind.

  1. It ends with us – Colleen Hoover (a romantic book with an interesting plot about 2 people that are in love)
  2. The universe in your hands – Christoph Galfar (a science-based book that lets you imagine the whole universe and travel through it, with only your imagination)
  3. Pride and prejudice – Jane Austin (thank you english teacher for recommending this one!)
  4. Reminders of him – Colleen Hoover (romantic novel with an interesting plot, for a helpless love)
  5. In search of lost time – Marcel Proust (one of the greatest books of all time)

What is the ideal summer routine?

So, all these things I mentioned before sound amazing and so relaxing, and I wish I could sit on my bed and watch kdramas all day! But, let’s balance some things up. Why not create a fancy routine anyone can follow whenever they like, to keep up our progress and not give up! Let’s go then! (for this part of the article thanks to a friend that recommended the idea!)

Step 1: Let’s start with the morning. No, you don’t need to wake up at 7am. So, wake up whenever you like, but. Be sure to eat breakfast, or if you wake up near noon, then be sure to grab a snack before you have your lunch. For your health, science has shown that a cup of water every morning is the best thing someone can do to detox. And if you don’t like water, like me, then I have a solution for you. You can buy flavored water from the grocery stores, but you can also make your own, by just adding some fruit (lemon for example) to your cup of water. Then, be sure to change out of your pjs, and pick an outfit that suits your mood, this will really hype you up! Also be sure to wash your face and brush your teeth as soon as you wake up, it will make you feel fresher. Lifesaver: Don’t go back to bed. As soon as you wake up make your bed and tidy up your room, it will help you realize that you should start your day!

Summary: – wake up whenever you like, make your bed, wash your face, brush your teeth, change your outfits, drink a cup of water, grab breakfast and write you to-do list for the day! Simple and easy!

Step 2: While completing the tasks you have to do, make sure to leave some spare time for working out and get some fresh air. It is vital for all of us to show some love to ourselves and sometimes that love is exercising so don’t hesitate and exercise at least 2 times a week!

Step 3: You should also dedicate a day for yourself only, this is also known as a self care day! Self care day is about congratulating ourselves for anything big or small we have accomplished. Every day you should be proud of yourself and especially that day, you should show a lot love to yourself to refuel and continue thriving. I will explain more in a detailed guide, which will come sooner than you think! So, in YOUR day, make sure to wake up whenever you like, eat your favorite breakfast and drink your favorite drink, have a hot bath, listen to music, exfoliate your skin, put on masks, but mostly enjoy yourself. Eat your favorite meal and don’t do anything that can ruin your mood or make you unhappy. Be truly happy for once!

So, this is it for this week! Hope you enjoyed this summer guide and I also hope you got those summer vibes! I’ll be back with a brand new article next week, and a YouTube video in 5 days from now! Stay tuned and make sure to follow my Instagram for new updates!!
