Hello my lovelies! First things first, I apologize for not posting the previous week but there were some important things that needed to be done, hope you understand! We are all humans! Secondly, today I have prepared for you something exciting and I hope useful! Let’s get started right away!
1. Prepare yourself mentally and physically:
Even if you have bought new fancy clothes in order to create your outfits for school, this isn’t enough for you to ace it. Wanna learn how to ace it? You are in the right place. First of all ladies and gentlemen. You have to embrace the role and routine of going back to school. Don’t cry, it’s not that dramatic. It’s September already and we are thinking, oh my god, school’s starting again.. Instead of thinking, let’s make it easier for ourselves to adjust and have both fun and straight A’s!
- Wake up an hour early instead from when you usually wake up: Waking up early in the morning after a long night is pretty difficult, so, in order to be easier on yourselves, sleep an hour earlier than the hour you usually go to sleep, and wake up an hour earlier. Practically, you will have the same amount of sleep, but you will adjust smoothly day by day in waking up early. Try to do that each day, but a bit different. For example: Day 1 – Wake up an hour earlier | Day 2 – Add an hour more, wake up 2 hours earlier and so on. Although, don’t overdo it! And remember, that you should sleep for around 7-8 hours, so try to keep up something similar to that, and sleep early at night, so that your mind can rest!
- Revise what you’ve been taught. So many of us, I’m including myself, usually forget everything that we have been taught during the previous school year, because of the big summer break we have. So, if you want to score straight A’s, then, you have to be sure that you remember at least a few.
- Create a to-do list for everyday. This has helped me a lot more than any of you reading this can imagine. And that’s because I had my tasks organized and I knew that I had to do certain things throughout the day. If you don’t like the traditional way, you can download apps on your phone that have a to-do list mode.
- Break down the big tasks into smaller ones. This can be easy. For example: You have to revise chemistry, maths and science. Break those subjects into small sections. Study 3 chapters of these each day with breaks, and you will be done before you know it!
- Write effective notes. A trap that most students fall for is that they write those fancy notes with expensive pens that are trending through Pinterest. To be a straight-A student, you don’t need fancy stuff laying around your office. Grab a pen and a notebook, and make sure you mark all the important things mentioned. If later you need to categorize these, then take some highlighters and highlight the most important parts. For my convenience, I have separated the colors of the highlighters, for certain uses. For example: yellow is for what the teacher states, orange for important dates and exams, purple for keywords, green for reminders and so on. I also use thick pens in different colors, usually pastel because it’s easier to my eyes. If that is suitable to you, then it’s perfect to use.
- A really important part you should not skip, is to have fun and balance everything. I admit that this is the hardest part, because studying and having fun at the same time doesn’t really sound like a good idea. My best advice in this field, is to set a timer every time you study, and break your study sessions into small study sessions with breaks in between. This will be a lot more effective than studying for 2 hours straight, because your brain will take a break for once! The ideal that most people including myself follow, is the pomodoro method. The model of that method is 25 minutes studying/working and 5 minute break, and repeat the same until you finish your task. Because this may not be as productive as it may seem, I adjusted the method to my needs. You will understand what I mean if you check out my YouTube study with me videos which will be uploaded from this week regularly, as I will have a lot more studying to do from now on!
So, this is it for today! A small yet useful article about school and ways to ace during the upcoming school year! I hope you enjoyed! If you did, make sure to comment, like and if not already, follow my blog and my other social media platforms!
