The K-pop industry

Hello again! I hope you’re doing alright! This is another article, not sequel to #theperfectionismseries. If you’re looking for anything like that, I got you!

Before we start explaining:

Let’s define Kpop: Kpop is actually based in Korea (South Korea) and can be considered a whole culture. Kpop music is what made the entire South Korean culture shine worldwide, with groups like BTS, 2NE1, BLACKPINK, NCT, EXO, and also individuals back in time, such as Psy. With BTS being the most influential, Kpop quickly became a new worldwide phenomenon.

After our little throwback to the story, let’s highlight some special moments: (3rd gen and going on!!)

  • 2012: Psy – Gangnam style
  • 2012: EXO debut (Famous songs: Love Shot, Ko Ko Bop, Cream Soda)
  • 2013: BTS debut (Famous songs: FAKE LOVE, ON, Dynamite)
  • 2015: TWICE debut (Famous songs: I CAN’T STOP ME, The Feels, FANCY)
  • 2016: BLACKPINK debut (Famous songs: How You Like That, DDU-DU DDU-DU, Lovesick Girls)
  • 2016: NCT debut (Famous songs: Baby Don’t Stop, Chewing Gum, Make a Wish)

Now, what about the 4th gen leaders of Kpop?

Boy Groups

  1. Stray Kids
  2. ATEEZ
  3. TXT
  4. ENHYPEN

Girl Groups

  1. (G)-IDLE
  2. ITZY
  3. LE SSERAFIM
  4. New Jeans

Every group is successful on its own, and that is a friendly reminder that charts and numbers actually mean nothing. And yes, they are important for growth, but what is more important is for the idols to be satisfied with themselves and so, to be able to give their fans the best performances and songs!

But.. I actually want to talk about K-Dramas too. They finally get the recognition they deserve. So, in other words, of course such a country could not miss out in actors. There are actually many korean actors, with public recognition along with K-dramas. Let’s name a few:

  • Alchemy of souls (2 seasons – 2022)
  • Reply 1988 (2015)
  • Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022)
  • Vincenzo (2021)
  • It’s Okay Not To Be Okay (2020)
  • The Glory (2 seasons – 2022)
  • Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022)
  • Goblin (2016)
  • The Uncanny Counter (2020)
  • Snowdrop (2021)

Of course, the one sthat I recommend I have also seen, so you have my approval. Please note that those Kdramas are not for everyone. I mean, we all have different types of movies and series that we like, and that applies here too!

So, I know this article is small, but more are in the way! Await for me tomorrow again, I’ll be coming with a brand new article! Love you all!
