- Briefly about me:
My name is Evelyn. I am 18 years old and currently in the last year of high school.I currently live in Greece, and I am also from Greece.
- What is my dream?
Since I was young, my dream was to help people deal with illnesses that are fatal, such as cancer. That’s why I want to be a neurosurgeon or a geneticist (I’m still unsure of what I will decide) in order to make sure those diseases disappear for good. *Geneticist: an expert in or student of heredity and the variation of inherited characteristics. (simpler: someone who is studying DNA)
- Where do I want to study?
My dream university is Harvard University, in which I will be hopefully doing my doctorate degree. In order to study genetics or medicine, I would love if I would be able to study at Oxford University. Otherwise, my top universities are Bath University or University of Essex.
- Do I have any hobbies?
I have many hobbies, and one of my hobbies is blogging. I am also enjoying playing the piano, or playing violin at times. I used to draw, but lately I have quit that.
- What keeps me going on?
The truth is that life itself is a tough battle each one of us has to win. So, I won’t hide. I admit I had many hard times, and I still do, and I definitely do not have the “perfect” or “ideal” or “that person” life. I’m just an ordinary human, who likes to spread positivity to other people. What keeps me alive until now, is my family, my friends (to which I owe a lot) and 3 k-pop groups, BTS, Stray Kids, and Ateez who help me when I’m at my lowest with their songs.
- What music do I listen to?
In the previous question and also some of my articles I already mentioned I listen to k-pop. I’m actually an ARMY, a STAY an ATINY and an ENGENE and I’m not the least afraid or ashamed of it. I like to listen to music that inspires me, and songs that have meaningful lyrics, that are written from life experiences. I listen to many genres, mostly k-pop and pop music. Sometimes I also listen rap music, but I know very little about it and I actually want to search it more. I listen to instrumental music too, especially piano and violin pieces. Sometimes I listen OST’s (original soundtracks) from k-dramas and anime (that live rent-free in my head), which I am a huge fan of. In general, music is a very big part of my life which I can’t live without. You will always see me wearing headphones or earplugs wherever I go lol. (You can check out my playlists on my Spotify link below!)
- Why did I “quit” music school?
Although music will always be a way to express myself, my dream is to help people through medicine. And because we can’t do everything in a day, I decided that it’s best for me to focus more on my dream, and keep music as a lifelong hobby. This way I can pursue both my dream and my passion.
- How am I so motivated and spread positivity all the time?
Here comes the social media image. In social media, life appears to be perfect, everything to be perfect. In real life, there is nothing like this. The truth is, that lately I have lost my motivation due to some issues, but I am building this thing back with slow but meaningful steps. I don’t want to dig the past, I don’t want to keep thinking of people that hurt me. What is done is over, and we only need to face the future in order to move on. Otherwise, we foul ourselves that we move on, when in reality we only keep saying everything over and over again. That’s why I decided that sometimes it’s about the way you look at things. It’s about everything that you look at. Are you thinking that the bottle is half empty or half full?
Questions about my sexuality, my gender identity and my preference shall remain private, as well as any other personal matters I do not wish to share. Any questions asked about those topics won’t be answered. Thank you for your understanding!
